It was mother nature’s way of reminding us that it was still winter. A major winter storm moved through the states leaving a blanket of ice, sleet and snow behind. It also left destruction, death and over a million people without power. Memories of the storm last year came flooding back for many of us in Oklahoma.
Fortunately, we fared well this time. The city was more prepared and so were we. But, it did make for a couple days of treacherous driving. Like most residents, I stayed off the roads.
The landscape has changed a bit since Thursday morning, when these photographs were taken. Much of the ice has melted and temperatures will be in the upper 60’s today, finishing the transformation to a warmer and safer scene.
