Three attacks on Saturday; ISIS claimed responsibility for one of them

Saturday was a busy day on the terror front.

New Jersey

Three IEDs were placed in a trash can near a Marine Corps charity 5K run in New Jersey.  Thankfully only one of them detonated.  No injuries were reported.  Governor Christie called the bombing an “act of terrorism”.

Minnesota

Later in the day, a knife wielding attacker stabbed 9 people at a shopping mall in St. Cloud, Minnesota.  The attacker was shot and killed by an off-duty police officer.  It’s being reported that the attacker asked his victims if they were Muslim and made references to Allah during the attack.  This morning, ISIS claimed responsibility for the the attack calling the attacker a “soldier”.

New York

Then last night, an IED exploded in the Chelsea district in New York.  This incident injured 29, one of them seriously.

A second device, a pressure cooker bomb, was found a few blocks away from the initial bombing.  This bomb didn’t detonate.  It’s been removed from the area and off to the crime lab. Governor Cuomo called the New York attack “terrorism”.  The FBI and NY terrorism tasks forces are investigating.

As you can imagine, security in New York has been heightened.  The National Guard has been deployed to airports and subway stations.

It’s unclear if these attacks are related, or if they were done in retaliation for the coalition bombings in Syria that killed dozens of Syrian troops – bombings meant for ISIS.  None have claimed responsibility for the NJ or NY bombings.  One thing is for sure:  all of them are acts of terrorism.

Still no statement from President Obama.  When a thug gets killed, Obama is sending in the Justice Department and going on CNN telling us what a good boy he was.  But, when there’s a terrorist attack you can hear crickets at the White House.

The State Department condemned the terrorist attack in Kashmir.  Oh good.  I’m glad they did that.
