Are we really all that surprised that the Islamic thugs in Iran didn’t hold a legitimate election? Let’s face it, Iran is not, nor has it ever been, a democracy. Their Theocratic Republic has always been governed by Islamic terrorists who hide behind the veil of religious fanaticism.
Even though they are reporting that an “independent” council will be investigating violations in their election process, I doubt it will do more than give them time to squash the trouble-makers and protect their deceit.
Will the “election” results affect how we treat that country? Probably not. They’ll continue to violate human rights. They’ll continue to threaten their neighbors. And Iran will still be a place that anti-American extremists are welcomed and cultivated, and they’ll remain a threat to the security of U.S. interests domestically and abroad.
