Photos Published in “Blown Away”

Last spring, Justin and I were chasing storms through Louisiana into Mississippi and ended up in Yazoo City, Mississippi just prior to the city being hit by an EF4 tornado.  Before the storm arrived in Yazoo, I was able to capture a few photographs of the storm as it headed our way.Book Cover

The Yazoo Herald contacted me a few months after the storm requesting permission to publish the images.

Last week I received a copy of the book, “Blown Away: the storm that changed Yazoo forever”.  It’s a sobering historical record of the aftermath of this devastating tornado.  The book is also a testimony to the resolve of Yazoo’s residents.  Two of the photographs I took that day are included in the 128 page account of the storm.

It’s a good feeling to know that the photographs will forever be a part of Yazoo’s history.
