We’re currently under an excessive heat warning, effective until tomorrow, and I’m expecting the NWS to extend that.  There’s just not much relief from the heat in our near future.  Temps are still going to be near the triple-digit mark.  It really does feel more like August than June.  Avereage high temps are usually in the mid 80s this time of year.  Are you ready for some cooler weather?  I am too, but it’s not going to happen this week.  In fact, I don’t see any relief for the next couple of weeks.

Daytime high temps will continue to be in the upper 90s.  We could actually see the mercury rise to over the 100° mark on Monday.  I’m sure we’re all looking forward to that!  Not so much?

All kidding aside, it’s actually going to be a bit dangerous.  Heat index values will range from 102° to 108° here in Tulsa.  Be careful if you are planning to be outdoors.  Make sure you’re hydrating yourself — drink plenty of water and take frequent breaks.

I don’t want to be all doom and gloom.  So, we’ll throw in a chance of rain on Monday and Tuesday.  I doubt it’ll develop into anything substantial, but any moisture would be welcomed.

Air conditioning was a great invention, wasn’t it?
