Severe Weather Preview – The Big Show is Saturday

We’ve gotten a little taste of severe weather today with tornadoes west and southwest of Tulsa.  Although things have quieted down somewhat, the risk of severe weather still exists.  A new tornado watch was issued just now for our area, effective until 4am Saturday.

Today’s storms are just a preview of what we can expect tomorrow.

The NWS has updated the SPC Outlook for Saturday, with high risk areas in Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska.  I’d like to be able to say that it’s not going to be a big deal, but all indications point to a major severe weather/tornado outbreak.

Here’s the latest outlook graphic for tomorrow.

I’ll update the risk areas tomorrow after the models are updated and before I head out for the chase.  I hope you’ll follow me throughout the day and evening.

Stay safe.
