Severe weather in Oklahoma today

5:17 AM

It didn’t develop as early as everyone thought, but severe weather is likely in Oklahoma this morning.

A Tornado Watch was issued a few minutes ago for Creek, Osage and Pawnee counties.  It’s in effect until 12:00 noon.

This is just the beginning.

We have a risk of severe storms today in the Tulsa area, looks like it’ll start popping sometime this morning.  The primary threats are hail and gusty winds.  Anything could happen though.

Currently in Tulsa we have a few clouds and 66° in Tulsa.  RH 78%, DP 59°.

I’ll update as we go through the day.

7:26 AM

A Tornado Watch has been issued for several counties in the Tulsa area, including Tulsa.  It’s in effect until 3:00pm.

3:00 PM

The Tornado Watch was allowed to expire.

6:46 PM

The rain has moved out of our area.  We ended up with about 1-1/2″ of much needed moisture.

I’m glad I didn’t take the day off though.  Severe weather didn’t really happen in our area.

Until next time.
