Moderate risk for severe storms today in Oklahoma

A spring weather pattern is shaping up for Oklahoma for the next few days, bringing with it a chance of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes.

Today there’s a moderate risk for severe weather for most of Oklahoma.  Tulsa is in the slight risk area, but you know how that can go.  Plan for the worse case scenario and hope for the best.

Locally, temps this afternoon will be in the low 80s with dewpoints in the mid 60s.  Storms could begin developing after 2:00 p.m., but the greatest chance for storms will be later this evening.

The NWS is saying:

THERE IS A LIMITED RISK OF SEVERE WEATHER ACROSS NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA…MAINLY ALONG AND WEST OF HIGHWAY 75 LATE THIS AFTERNOON
AND INTO THE EVENING. DAMAGING WINDS…LARGE HAIL AND POSSIBLY AN ISOLATED SPIN-UP TORNADO ARE THE EXPECTED HAZARDS.

The forecasts will likely adjust as we go through the day.  Be weather aware!
