More rain in the forecast

After a night of severe storms, we had a pretty nice day to begin the clean up.  The storms left behind a big problem for the several thousand still without power in the Tulsa area.  PSO says it could be several days before all of the power is restored.

Damage was wide spread, caused by powerful straight-line winds.  The airport set a record, clocking the winds at 76 mph.  Wow!  Most of the damage was to trees, but there’s also been structure damage reported in some areas and fires caused by lightning.  I have a few limbs down at my house, but nothing major.

We have another round of storms coming tomorrow evening and Friday.  We could see up to a couple inches of additional precipitation and some of the storms could be severe, so you’ll want to watch weather developments.

On the plus side, temperatures will be cooler.  Friday’s high is expected to only hit the low 80s and the weekend will be in the mid to upper 80s with some sunshine.

Rain chances will return next week and high temps will be in the low to mid 90s.

Any rain we get is welcomed this time of year.  I’m not going to complain.
