The cold is here for a few days

The weather topic for the next couple of days will be cold. Most of Oklahoma is under a Wind Chill Advisory. Wind chill values are expected to be below zero again tonight.

Winter precipitation is also in the immediate forecast. A slight chance of snow has been forecast for Thursday through Saturday. If something develops, it shouldn’t be of major concern. Accumulating snowfall should stay to our west. There’s also a slight risk of freezing rain in our area. Again, if that develops, it shouldn’t amount to much. Of course, any icing could cause travel problems.

The next system, coming on Monday, has the potential of dropping another couple inches of snow. It’s too early to call with any certainty, but it’s worth watching.

Cold temps will be the topic of conversation for a while.  For the next several days, daytime highs will stay in the low to mid 30’s.  A warm-up is still several days away.

Stay warm.
