Winter weather again today and tomorrow

10:16PM:  There’s no break in the advisory issued earlier.  The NWS has adjusted the timing for the current advisory, now in effect until midnight on Saturday.  Accumulating snow is expected to continue to fall in the area overnight into the morning, followed by sleet and then freezing rain tomorrow night.

Road conditions continue to deteriorate.  Travel is discouraged.

7:39 PM:  We have gotten a little bit of snow today.  It started falling about 1:30 this afternoon.  It’s not been a major event (about 1/2″), but with ground temps below freezing, a coating of snow has caused some hazardous driving.

I did stop for the normal winter weather food (pop, lunch meat, bread, milk, toilet paper) on my way home from the office.  Also, filled up the truck.  So, I’m good for the weekend.  Or am I?

I thought I’d be able to hunker down here at the homestead tomorrow, but the camera lens being shipped back to me from Sigma couldn’t be left by UPS without a “real” person signing for it, so I’ll be making a expeditious run to the airport in the morning to pick it up.

The Tulsa area (I mean ALL of Oklahoma) remains under a Winter Weather Advisory until midnight tonight.  A new advisory goes into effect at 5:00 am tomorrow, running until midnight tomorrow night.  An additional 2-3″ of snow is expected.
