It has been a while since we’ve had any measurable rain here in Tulsa, but that’s going to change.
With high temps near 80° on Thursday, thunderstorms will develop in the Tulsa area. Most likely after 1:00 p.m. Rain chances and rainfall amounts will increase Thursday evening into the overnight hours. We could see about 1/4″ of rain on Thursday alone. Then overnight and Friday, thunderstorms will continue, bringing an additional 3/4″ of rain to the area. I doubt any of the thunderstorms will be severe, but we could have gusty winds and heavy rain at times.
Another 1/4″ of rain is expected on Saturday and temps will be cooler with a more seasonable 68° for the high.
It doesn’t look like there will be any storms worth chasing, but it might be a great weekend to get out and begin looking for the fall color changes. I may wander into eastern Oklahoma to see how far along we are.
