You’ve probably heard about the wholesale harvesting of user data at Facebook and the misuse of this data by Cambridge Analytica. Now Facebook is facing an inquiry by the Federal Trade Commission for not protecting the data of Facebook users. After giving this situation some careful thought, I’ve decided to delete my Facebook fan page. I’ve already removed the links between Twitter and tulsawxchaser.com. The Facebook page will be deleted on Saturday.
And, to keep the “house cleaning” momentum going, links to the Google+ fan page and the page itself were deleted today. I know, you didn’t even realize there was a Google+ fan page.
I realize this action sounds drastic, but it’s not really. Most of the folks who follow me are from Twitter and tulsawxchaser.com. Neither fan page will be missed.
