4:50 pm update

It’s been snowing all day. It’s tapering off now. I have 4-1/2″ of snow on the ground now and I don’t think we’ll see any more today.

It’s 33 degrees now, but it’ll drop into the mid-teens overnight. Cold one. I went ahead and cleared the car tonight. Probably a tad easier than doing it in the dark of morning…and freezing temperatures. I’m not looking forward to that.

If you didn’t get enough snow today, don’t worry. Another round of snow is in the Forecast for Tuesday afternoon.

The vegetable soup is on the stove and smelling wonderful. It’ll be ready to eat in about an hour.

I hope you all stayed warm indoors today. Snuggle up, it’s going to be a cold one.

11:30 am update

As you can see, we’re getting a little more snow than originally forecast. The NWS has upgraded our advisory to Winter Storm Warning. We could see up near 6″ of the white stuff, although “officially” they’re saying 3″ here in Tulsa. I’ll go out an measure it later today.

It is still snowing, but not as hard as it was earlier today. The lighter snow will continue for a while yet.

I don’t know about you, but I’m thinking about making some vegetable soup for supper.

5:00 am

I’ve been watching the forecasts for this past week and one thing that has remained in them is the chance of a measurable snowfall for today. It appears as though that may happen.

We are under a Winter Weather Advisory here in Tulsa until 6:00 pm this evening. 2-3″ of snow is expected to fall.

Looking at the radar right now and the precipitation is still to the west of Tulsa, but it’s moving this way. I expect it will arrive here within the next couple of hours. It’ll start with rain and then change to snow as the temperature drops later today. It is currently 37F, and that’s today’s high.

The snow should taper off this afternoon and then temps will drop into the low 20s overnight tonight.

If you need to get to the market today, you should do so this morning. It looks like roadways could be a mess later today.

I’ll update this post if anything should change.

Stay warm and take care of each other.
