All eyes are focused on Florida as Idalia becomes a Cat 3 hurricane very soon. It could be a Cat 4 by the time it makes landfall tomorrow morning.
If you are located on the west coast of Florida, you are in the path. Storm surges will be major and anyone along the coast from Cape Coral to the north will likely be affected.
If you have been told to evacuate, do so. Move as far inland as you can. Remember, it’s not just the eye of the storm that is concerning, the outer bands will produce heavy rain and tornadoes, combined with the storm surge puts anyone in the path at risk. Widespread flooding is likely.
Stay safe and take care of each other.
