I usually get to chase one or two days in the fall. This week may just bring one of those opportunities.
Storms are expected to develop in Western Oklahoma and the panhandle on Friday. There’s also rain chances overnight on Thursday with a chance of severe storms in the Tulsa area Friday evening.
The best chance of a chase will be on Saturday for my neck of the woods. North of Tulsa in Eastern Kansas and Western Missouri are looking promising for development of severe thunderstorms and maybe a tornado or two. It is too early for any certainty right now, so I’ll be making the go-no go decision Friday when more stable information is available.
Locally, I think we’ll get around 1 1/2” of rain out of developing storms Friday and Saturday.
Temperature wise, it’ll be warmer than it has been with highs in the 70s, reaching 80° by Sunday. Mild overnight lows will be welcomed after the near freezing temperatures last weekend.
I’ll post another update on Friday. Stay tuned.
