Chance of thunderstorms on Saturday

After warm days on Friday and Saturday, highs in the mid to upper 70s, temperatures will become more seasonal on Sunday.  With a good chance of rain on Saturday and Sunday, temperatures will struggle to get into the upper 60s.  In fact, we could see around 1/2” of rain or more by the time the rain ends sometime Sunday night.

Once the cold front moves through, temperatures will drop a little more.  The overnight low for Sunday night is expected to be near freezing.  Monday night, the temp will fall below freezing.  Daytime highs next week will range from near 50 on Monday to the upper 50s and low 60s for the rest of the week.

It is fall in Oklahoma.

I’m continuing to watch the weather patterns for Saturday and Sunday.  There’s a slight chance that some developing storms on Saturday could become severe.  That could mean a fall-season chase in western Oklahoma into Kansas.

The graphic below shows the area of risk for severe thunderstorms on Saturday.

No it’s not a moderate or high risk, but this time of year you have to take what you can get, when you can get it.

I’ll keep watching things and make the chase decision Saturday morning.  Whether or not I get out there will depend on how things set up and what time of day they fire.
