Front brings rain and cooler temps to Tulsa

There’s nothing better than waking up to the sound of rain.  I could have done without the wind, but the rain was nice.  It sure took a long time to get here.  The front was a slow moving one.

I don’t see anything severe happening in the Tulsa area today and the rain should begin to taper off around lunchtime.  By the time the rain ends, we will have received 1/2” to 3/4” of precipitation.

The downside to the cold front moving through is temperatures will drop this afternoon.  You’ll need a coat.

It’s 52° in Tulsa now and that’ll probably be our high temp for the rest of the day.  This afternoon is expected to be in the low 40s.  By morning, that’ll seem balmy.  The wake-up temperature on Monday will be in the upper 20s.

There’s already freeze warnings issued in western Oklahoma and we’ll probably see at least an advisory for our area later today.

Until next weekend, we’ll have sunny skies, but we’ll struggle to reach 60° during the day and the overnight lows will be in the 20s and 30s.
