We’ve definitely had a wintry mix today.  Tulsa has seen rain, sleet, snow and freezing rain today.  It’s not over.

It’s 34° in Tulsa right now with a mix of rain and sleet.  We remain under a Winter Weather Advisory until noon tomorrow.

I expect the snow and sleet to end here in the next hour or two.  Then we’ll see rain and freezing rain as temperatures hover around 32°.  This will continue through the night into tomorrow morning.  Additional snow and sleet accumulation will be minimal, but ice accumulation could be around 1/4″.  The roadways are wet and icing will be a major concern in the morning, especially on un-treated surface streets and elevated roadways and bridges.  If you must travel in the morning, be extremely cautious.

The rain should be ending around noon tomorrow and temperatures will rise into the mid to upper 30s.  Hopefully a few hours of above-freezing temperatures will aid in drying some of the heavily traveled roadways.

However, temps tomorrow night will fall into the 20s and any remaining moisture on streets will probably freeze.  As well, wind chill values will be in the low teens.  Not a good night to be out and about.

On Friday, temps will be near 40° and should make all of this ice and snow history.

Stay warm and travel safe.
