Snow chances for Sunday and Monday

First, let me say, I’m glad I’m not the one who must accurately forecast winter weather.  The models and the forecasts change as quickly as the clock ticks.  With that being said, there is still a chance of winter precipitation in the Tulsa area on Sunday and Monday.  We could see snow begin as early as sunrise on Sunday.

There’s nothing on the radar yet, but temps are expected to drop once the cold front moves through and snow may develop.  Highs Sunday will be around 30° here in the Tulsa area with wind chills in the teens.  Sunday night the temperature will be a blustery 19° with dangerous wind chills – around 4°.  Snow accumulation on Sunday and Monday will be between 1-2″ here in the Tulsa area.  West of Tulsa could see more.  Much more.

For now, Tulsa isn’t included in any of the advisories, but much of central and western Oklahoma is.  Counties in the Panhandle are currently under a warning.

If you’re going to travel Sunday or Monday, it’d be a good idea to check road conditions before you head out.

The forecasts will tighten up in the morning and if anything changes, I’ll post it.
