It’s been hot, but a cold front is heading our way

It’s been hot this weekend for sure.  Heat index values near 105° have made outside activities less than pleasurable.  But, a little relief will be heading our way.

A cold front will be moving through NE Oklahoma overnight Monday, dropping temps for a few days and bringing us rain potential.  It’s not going to last long though.  Hot and dry weather will return next weekend.

Here’s the forecast for the next few days.

Tonight
A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 75. South wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Monday
A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 93. Heat index values as high as 101. South wind 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
Monday Night
Showers and thunderstorms likely. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 75. South wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Tuesday
Showers and thunderstorms. High near 81. South wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
