A few months ago, the musical group Sunshine Social released their video “The Brace”. The video supporting the song is actually home movies provided to them by my cousin.
The 8mm movie clips from back in the 50s continue to touch those who see them, including Canadian singer/songwriter Alana Yorke. Alana has written a beautiful song about the home movie titled “The Wichita Years”.
Wichita KPTS recently broadcast a segment about the song and video that includes an interview with my cousin and Alana Yorke.

Thanks for posting the PBS video Tim. We had some really good times back then. It is really nice to see our grandfather, your dad and mom in the films. Your mother was my favorite aunt of all the sisters but she did freak me out back then because she could always tell if I was lying to her. Ha Ha…..
We did have some good times. And, just so you know, Mom still freaks me out a bit. haha
