I realize springtime is just around the corner, so says the rodent, but we’re finally beginning to show signs of winter. Temps have dropped. We’ve gotten some freezing precipitation and we may actually see measurable snowfall this weekend.

Finally.

One of the reasons I love Oklahoma is because of the seasons, including winter. This winter season has been slow in coming and I’ve been disappointed. Maybe my outlook is changing some now.

So, here’s the scoop:

Today: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 44. Northeast wind around 5 mph becoming south in the afternoon. Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 30. North wind 5 to 10 mph.

Saturday: A 30 percent chance of rain after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 42. Northeast wind around 10 mph. Saturday Night: Rain or freezing rain likely before midnight, then periods of freezing rain and sleet. Low around 26. North wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.

Sunday: Snow likely before noon. Cloudy, with a high near 26. North wind around 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

We could see a little icing before we get about 1-2″ of snow on Sunday – if the forecast holds. My fingers are crossed.

So, you may complain about the weather this weekend, if you wish. I, on the other hand, will enjoy winter while I can.

Stay safe and take care of each other.
