There’s been a lot of talk about President Trump’s “racist” remarks about Democrat run Baltimore. So, today I hit the internet to fact check Trump’s claims.
Murder Rate per capita
- Tulsa: 20.8/100,000
- Chicago: 20.8/100,000
- Guatemala: 22.4/100,000
- Baltimore: 50.6/100,000
That’s correct. With a population of 611,000 people, Baltimore had 309 murders.
Conditions in Baltimore
I scoured the net and found interviews with residents who validate the claims of piles of trash, drug problems, abandoned buildings, high unemployment and, yes, rats.
- The unemployment rate in Baltimore is more than twice the Maryland unemployment rate of 3.7%.
I also found this from Socialist Bernie Sanders who visited Baltimore in 2015, describing it as a “third world country”.
Billions in Federal Funding sent to Maryland District 7
- $4.6B in Federal funding was sent to District 7 in 2018.
Who is their representative
Don’t listen to the media spin this into the racist narrative they are attempting to construct. The FACTS speak volumes.
Calling Cummings to task is NOT racist. It needs to be done and, quite frankly, overdue. The predominantly black community is hurting.
