First, let me apologize to everyone for the “Test” post earlier. I’ve been having some server issues. I think it’s all fixed. If not, let me know.

We’ve thawed out this past week. Thank goodness. After a couple weeks of sub-zero temps, ice and nearly a foot of snow, the warmer weather has been welcomed. I was fortunate to have kept power and water during the event. I hope all of you survived the arctic chill, too! The coldest I recorded here was -13F, with wind chill values around -20. Cold. And almost a foot of snow. Getting to the office was a challenge for several days.

Now we have to deal with the damage the storms left behind, potholes and water main breaks being the major things the city has to contend with. I’ve already blown a tire recently because of a pothole and I really don’t want another.

At one point, the city folks were working over 150 water main breaks across the city. I’m glad I have a desk job. On my way home from the office on Friday, I passed another water main break on 41st street.

Although I like winter weather, I think I’ve had enough. I’m hoping it’s one of those once in a decade things. I may be ready for a little spring now.

Until next time.
