Update 2:50 pm CT: ISIS is claiming responsibility for the attack, naming the suicide bomber. There’s also reports of gunfire AFTER the bombing. The Defense Department says the bomber got through the Taliban controlled checkpoint. I wonder if they let them through intentionally.
Biden is to speak at 5:00 pm ET.
Update 2:30 pm CT: The Department of Defense held a press conference at 2:00. The scheduled briefing by the State Department was canceled. They are reporting at least 12 service members were killed and several were injured, along with dozens of Afghans. They’ve also heard that up to 4 bombings have taken place around Kabul today, but can only confirm the two being reported now.
Update 12:00 noon CT: It is being reported that dozens are dead from the bombings, including four U.S. Marines. There’s a Pentagon briefing at 2pm CT. Maybe there will be more information – or disinformation – at that time. The White House has indicated that both Biden and Harris have been briefed.
Multiple explosions at the airport in Kabul. Several casualties being reported, including Americans. MSM reported it was ISIS. Was the Taliban involved?
There’s also reports of an explosion at a military installation in Kazakhstan, although it’s not likely to be related.
It’s time Biden grew a pair of balls and took firm action. This is not going to end until we take control away from these terrorists.
