A few tips:

  • Make sure you have a clean air filter in your air conditioner. This will help reduce the strain on the cooling equipment. Supplement indoors with a fan to keep the cool air moving.
  • Do your laundry and other heat producing chores early in the day or after sunset.
  • Hydrate with WATER. Reduce caffein, sugary drinks and alcohol consumption.
  • If you are working or playing outdoors, take breaks often. Do your yardwork and errands early in the day when it’s cooler.
  • Use your cook stove and oven as little as possible.
  • Be extremely careful with open flames like BBQ grilles. Everything is dry and it won’t take much to start a major fire.
  • Don’t leave pets outdoors. If it’s too hot for you, then it’s too hot for them.

Stay safe and take care of each other.
