7:48 AM

The early models are in agreement that we’ll see some severe thunderstorms in N.E. Oklahoma.  What’s not in agreement is timing and severity.  Hopefully the data will be more conclusive later this morning.

If I had to make the decision to chase or not now, I’d probably plan on a quiet evening at home.

The outlook for today is a “slight” risk of severe weather.

Check back throughout the day for updates and my chase status.

8:15 am

Just reviewed the 8:00 outlook and there’s not much difference between what I posted above and now.  They’re calling for the highest risk to be in northern Illinois.  A tad far to travel today.

It’s still early.  Things could change.

11:48 am

Well, things haven’t changed.  The forecast from earlier is holding.  Not looking good for a chase day.  Locally, we could see some rain.  It’s all good.  We can use the rain.

9:00 pm

The storms have developed up in Kansas and a few storms initiated in Missouri earlier this evening, including a couple brief tornado touchdown reports.  Nothing really to speak of in N.E. Oklahoma.  But, there’s still a chance the front moving to the south-southeast could bring thunderstorms and precipitation to the Tulsa area overnight.

I’m a little dissapointed that nothing really developed before dark, but that’s the way this thing goes on occasion.

Monday, 6:17 AM

Not a drop of rain at my house overnight.  Dang.  Now I’ll have to water the lawn.
