The anticipated winter storm is beginning to take shape. The National Weather Service has issued a couple new warnings. A Winter Storm Warning in effect for several counties in central Oklahoma from midnight on Monday to 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday. The other is a Blizzard Warning for several counties in western Oklahoma, in effect from 6:00 p.m. today (Sunday) to 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
For a few other counties in Oklahoma, a Winter Storm Watch is in effect from Sunday to Monday night.
For now, Tulsa is not included in any of the watches or warnings. However, I expect this to change tomorrow and as the system moves to the east.
This is shaping up to be a dangerous and life threatening storm. Residents in the affected areas should avoid travel and be prepared for power outages.
I’ll post more on this storm as information becomes available.
