Hurricane Dorian – updated

9/7/19, 10:00 am – Dorian is moving off-coast, but still has a chance of hitting Nova Scotia. With wind speeds of 85 mph, Dorian is still a category 1 hurricane.

At least four dozen lives have been lost in the Bahamas, so far. The east coast received massive storm surges and several inches of rain. Rescues were taking place in North Carolina and the islands just off the coast.

This will be the last update for Dorian. As the recovery continues, so will the clean-up. We’ve been through this before and we’ve flourished. We will again.


9/6/19, 8:30 am – The death toll in the Bahamas has climbed to 30 souls. Dozens are missing and emergency management say the death-toll is sure to climb. Sad.

Dorian is now a Cat 1 hurricane as it pushes up the eastern coast of the U.S. It’s expected to begin a right turn, back out to sea. Hopefully.


9/5/19, 6:26 am – Dorian is now a Cat 3 near Charleston, SC. Tornado warnings have been issued for parts of the coast.


9/4/19, 8:29 am – – Dorian continues to move up the coast of Florida.

9/3/19, 8:15 pm – – Dorian downgraded to a Cat 2, but it’s moving along the coast now. Storm surge and severe storms with heavy rains are expected to last for several days.

The death toll in the Bahamas is now at 7 and expected to rise. The destruction is wide-spread.


9/3/19, 05:00 am – – Dorian is now a Cat 3 hurricane with sustained winds of 120 MPH. The storm has been stationary over the Bahamas, but researchers believe the storm will begin moving again later today.

Don’t let the downgrade to Cat 3 fool you. Dorian is still a major hurricane.

9/2/19, 0645 – – Hurricane Dorian, now a Cat 5, is slowly moving to the west today. It continues to pound the Bahamas as it does. The imagery coming in from the Bahamas is heart breaking.

This satellite image shows the overall size of Dorian. It’s a massive storm.

The National Hurricane Center expects Dorian to reach the U.S. early Tuesday. Evacuation orders for the eastern U.S. are being issued.
