I began watching the storms develop on radar and continued following the line of storms through the night. Unfortunately, tornadoes caused extensive damage and took the lives of dozens. The worst of the damage is in Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Tennessee and Kentucky.
Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear held a press briefing this morning.
We will learn more today about the number of tornadoes and the path of destruction when the National Weather Service completes their assessment. I do know one tornado was apparently on the ground for several hours and travelled over 200 miles. During this time, the NWS issued dozens of warnings and Tornado Emergency notifications.
More will be coming out about the storms, and I’ll update this article as I get confirming information.
